Northwest Workforce Training on Smart Grid
This DoE funded program in electric power engineering provides training in the emerging technologies in renewable generation and smart grid. It provides the depth of the subject matter for engineers at the undergraduate and graduate levels to address the workforce needs of electric utilities, technology vendors to the power industry, research laboratories and universities.
The training program is managed by the Washington State University (WSU) and the University of Washington (UW), two of the largest engineering colleges in the Northwest, with the partnership of the Northwest power industry. In addition to the resources of the two universities, the program also utilizes the unique and special facilities of the Northwest organizations like BPA, PNNL, Alstom and Incremental Systems.
