Course Description
This course is designed to explain the fundamentals of grid managements systems and power system applications. Through the use of PowerSimulator™, students will also develop skills in operating interconnected power systems. The course is designed as 7 learning modules along a 14-week period. Each week the student will watch recorded lectures, review relevant readings, and perform a set of predefined simulations within PowerSimulator. Each simulation is a timed, scored event and will be reflected in your final grade. However, you be allowed to perform each simulation a set number of times.
Course Requirements
Homework and Scenarios Within the lecture interface, there is a list of scenarios, and students should perform the designated scenarios each week according to the calendar. Each scenario is timed. Each scenario can be repeated. You performance will be recorded, evaluated, and be the largest factor in to your final grade for the course.
Course Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of electrical power systems and power flow analysis
Grading Policy
20% = discussion forum participation 80% = PowerSimulator™ scenarios
